Good Reasons to Work at Home - Some You May Not Have Considered

If you are reading this, you are more than likely thinking about a work at home job. You have your own reasons for wanting to do so. The most common reasons are spending more time with family and more flexibility with your schedule.

Spending more time with your family is perhaps the best reason to work from home. Knowing that you are there when your children need you will make all of you feel more secure. The ability to talk to your spouse when you feel the need is a great consideration.

Flexibility with your schedule means you can work the hours you choose. If you would rather split up your hours during the day, you can do that. If you have an appointment, you don't have to clear it with a supervisor. You can choose to attend a play and stay up all night to work if that is what you want to do.

There is no question that both of these reasons are terrific reasons to work out of your house. Here are a couple more reasons that you might not have considered:

Work at Home and Save Money

You will find a lot of sites online that can tell you how to make money by working at home. Do you realize that you can also save money? Here are a few ways working at home will save you money:

1. The most obvious way you will save money in this manner is that you won't be driving to and from work. Most people burn at least a gallon of gas just driving to and from work. With gas prices the way they are, you can save $3 - $4 a day. Less mileage on your vehicle means you will have less maintenance. This can add up in your savings as well.

2. You can save money by not buying the required clothes. You don't have to buy uniforms or purchase high-dollar dress clothes for your job. Depending on your current job, you can easily save $500 or more every year.

3. Save money by not going out to lunch. If you leave your job to go out for your lunch hour, you probably spend anywhere from $5 to $20 on lunch every time you do it. At home, you can grab lunch from your refrigerator. That is a much less expensive option.

The numbers may seem small, but over a year's time, you can save $2,000 or more by working at home! Now, consider what you can do with that money. You might put it into your online business, purchase office furniture, take your family on vacation, invest it or put it into a certificate of deposit... Ah. The possibilities...

And Just for Fun -

Work at Home and Give in to Impulse and Silliness

Do you ever feel like singing or dancing while you are at work? You know - a great song comes on the radio (or you wish it would) and you have to resist the urge to twist and shout? If you work at home, you can do that anytime you like. For some, that might sound silly. But for others, that is a great reason to work from home!

What if you ate too much at lunch time? Wouldn't it be great to be able to unbutton your pants? How about downing a soda pop and then resisting the urge to belch out of common courtesy? You can belch as loud as you want when you work at home.

Have you ever thought of a great idea while in the middle of a task at work and been unable to stop and write it down? At home, you can stop what you are doing and record your "eureka" moments. If you don't like a client's behavior when you work from home, you can tell them to get lost without being reprimanded by your boss. You ARE the boss.

Stand up, stretch, march around the room; call your honey and SHOUT sweet nothings if you feel like doing so. Join your kids in a round of "Duck, Duck Goose" or "Ring around the Rosies" for a quick refresh in the afternoon.

While I'm not suggesting you spend your entire day doing these things (bad idea), isn't it just a little pleasing to know you can? It's called "freedom". Freedom: working at home can give that to you. Freedom is good. Embrace it.

The advantages of working from home are many. Depending on your point of view, some may be less important than others but they are all valid.
